UPDATE 03/09/11
As an alternative, maybe you would like to help volunteer and help keep the convention running smoothly. You can still enjoy the convention, but just do additional work such as patrolling the FLRs to make sure everything is ok. Line control. Crowd control, etc. Although you can have fun, you still have to be serious. If someone needs assistance you MUST help them, respect everyone around you, and the likes of that. It is extra work, but you get to have authority. If you accept this option, PLEASE email us before you obtain the ticket. YOU MUST BE 18 or OLDER to be a volunteer and you may only order 1 ticket.
As for the rest, unfortunately, there are new rules in place at the host location that prevents us from doing door sign-in. We would like everyone who wants to come to enjoy this free and awesome convention, but we also have to make sure we are capable of handling all the people coming in and if the staff at the host location can handle all the people.
I have a feeling we could pull this event private and host it at another location. But that is for another year. We will update you about this if we do pull a Otakon....
Original Details
Springfest is an annual anime convention held by us, Polytechnic Anime Society (PAS), in March. We have held Springfest at NYU-Poly for the past 5 years. During the convention we have panels about anime, Japanese pop culture, gamer life style and the American otaku experience. Along with panels we also hold anime showings, contests and concerts. Last year we had a Rock band from Japan play in Regna Lounge. This year we are also planning a dealer room, where vendors can sell Anime related merchandise. If you require accomodations, there is a Marriot Hotel right across Jay street and the Main Entrance to 6 Metrotech, where most of the vents are held.

- That Parent or Legal Guardian MUST have a valid Photo ID with age verification. e.g. Drivers License, Permit, Passport, etc.
- If your Parent of Legal Guardian cannot accompany you, you can come with a friend that will come with a Parent or Legal Guardian. Just make sure your parents understand where you are going and how long you will be out.
This message is for TEACHERS or EDUCATORS planning to being a group to the convention
Since this is a weekend event, please ask the principal in your institution or the NYC Department of Education to make this an official class trip. It is also important to notify the parents of this trip. This may be an extra step, but we want to provide you and your class the smoothest and a worry-free expedition as possible. Also please bring your NYC Department of Education or teacher credentials and a valid photo ID when coming to this event.
Filming/Photography that will occur at SpringFest2011
There will be a film crew run by a student from the New York Film Academy that will be filming scene for a documentary called "ANIMATED." ANIMATED is a look into the real world of the anime/manga subculture, showing all of its dimensions and personalities. It is a documentary-styled reality show that will be following the lives of individuals as they get ready for a local convention, all while getting a close and intimate look at their daily lives and events. There are not plan from commercial distribution at this time. If you do not want your son or daughter filmed, please do not allow them to come to the convention. We have no way of prevent such actions.
There will also be photographers taking pictures of attendees that will be in cosplay (Costume Play) attire.

Unfortunately all the tickets have sold out. There might be a chance someone will cancel their ticket, but that is slim.
